Meaning of Communicable Diseases

These are diseases that can be transferred from one person to another.

Meaning of Disease

A disease is a state in which one departs from normal functioning state of the body and is unwell.

Meaning of Pathogens

Disease causing organisms are called pathogens, or more commonly as germs, “Most pathogens are microscopic and are referred to as microbes or micro-organisms. Examples are, bacteria, virus, fungi, protozoa, parasitic warms.

Types of Diseases

  1. Air-borne diseases
  2. Food borne diseases
  3. Insect borne diseases
  4. Contagious and sexually transmitted diseases
  5. Water-borne diseases
