The family is the first social group where a child is taught what is right and what is wrong, and what is role is in society through example. The family also passes the norms and folkways of society from generation to generation.

Family plays a vital role in society, serving various functions and offering numerous advantages. Let’s explore the functions of a family and its importance as a unit in society.

Functions of the Family

1. Reproduction: The family is responsible for procreation and ensuring the continuation of the human species through childbirth.
